About the position

The Sales Account Manager at Weekes Forest Products is responsible for driving sales and maintaining relationships with both prospective and existing customers in the building materials and construction industry. This role requires a dynamic and self-motivated individual who can effectively utilize their knowledge of products and services to solve problems and close sales. The position emphasizes a consultative approach to sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute personal sales strategy to maximize efforts and results.
  • Research and identify sales opportunities through collaboration with internal associates, industry publications, online sources, and networking.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with prospective and existing customers through various communication methods.
  • Develop and deliver effective sales presentations to negotiate and close profitable business across all products and services.
  • Ensure clients have the most up-to-date product samples and brochures, working with vendors for proper sales positioning.
  • Consult with clients to determine requirements and expectations, recommending specific solutions and calculating competitive pricing.
  • Interface with internal teams and supply partners to meet scheduled deadlines and requests.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and concerns.
  • Maintain complete and accurate information on prospective and existing clients in the contact management database.

Requirements

  • 3 years' sales and distribution experience, preferably in the building materials or construction industry.
  • Associate's degree or comparable work experience.
  • Proven track record of B2B sales/account management with the ability to identify opportunities and close high-level sales.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills with a consultative approach to sales.
  • Proficiency in cross-selling product lines and developing new client and market opportunities.
  • Strong customer focus and passion for building long-term business relationships.
  • Outstanding multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with organizational and follow-through skills.
  • General mathematical computational ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency, preferably in Microsoft Office programs and CRM.
