About the position

The Sales Account Manager at American Tower Corporation is responsible for driving and securing wireless asset leasing deals within an assigned geographic territory. This role focuses on new business sales across various products, including tower builds and shared services, while maintaining strong relationships with external customers and providing valuable market intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively market and lease communications infrastructure, securing build-to-suit opportunities and selling American Tower's acquisition, zoning, and permitting services to assigned customers.
  • Develop clear, impactful sales account plans for each assigned customer.
  • Broaden and deepen key relationships within customer accounts to increase account knowledge and influence.
  • Understand customer's business, network build plans, and budget/approval process to provide impactful customer intelligence to national account leaders.
  • Identify new business opportunities with named wireless carriers, tower owners, consultants, and other new prospects through research, calls, meetings, and presentations.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of all product and service offerings in the American Tower portfolio.
  • Provide accurate and timely pipeline and lease-up forecasting in Salesforce.
  • Perform approximately 10% of the role outside the conventional office environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales or business development experience required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of wireless, telecommunications, or real estate industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience using forecasting tools such as Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Familiarity with real estate investment trusts (REITs).
