About the position

The Sales/Account Manager position is a critical role focused on expanding and nurturing the Constant Contact Partner Network. This remote position requires a proactive individual who can analyze vertical markets to identify and recruit top partners, ensuring their success through effective engagement and support. The role involves a combination of strategic planning, relationship management, and operational execution to maximize long-term productivity and deliver exceptional experiences to partners. In this role, the Sales/Account Manager will be responsible for responding to inquiries from vertical partners and actively recruiting targeted partners. This includes identifying potential reselling partners within specific vertical markets and leading the onboarding process to establish strong relationships. The manager will work collaboratively with new partners to develop tailored business plans, ensuring alignment with the channel leader, especially in larger organizations. The position also entails deploying approved channel partners and identifying complementary products and services to enhance the partner offerings. The Sales/Account Manager will communicate any gaps in channel coverage to senior management and facilitate warm hand-offs to the channel marketing manager and sales management to drive joint marketing campaigns and transition relationships effectively. Additionally, the role requires maintaining an active pipeline of partners by sector, updating the CRM daily, and coordinating recruiting efforts with other vertical channel account managers. The Sales/Account Manager will also attend partner meetings, tradeshows, and industry conferences to present updates and recruit new partners, contributing to the overall growth and success of the Constant Contact Partner Network.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for recruiting partners in our targeted vertical and helping the partners with success.
  • Responsible for responding to vertical partner inquiries and recruiting targeted partners for the Constant Contact Partner Network.
  • Identification of potential reselling partners in vertical markets.
  • Lead the relationship with the potential reselling partner during the onboarding process.
  • Jointly develop the partner relationship with new partners.
  • Jointly develop the business plan with the prospective partner and the channel leader if a larger organization.
  • Deploy approved Channel partners.
  • Identify complementary products and services and communicate to the channel leader and other senior management as appropriate.
  • Identify gaps in channel coverage and communicate to the channel leader and other senior managers as appropriate.
  • Warm hand-off to channel marketing manager to drive joint marketing campaigns for appropriate partners.
  • Warm hand-off to sales management to transition the relationship to sales management (review business plan).
  • Schedule joint activity with partners to drive sales success.
  • Contribute to the definition of partner profiles as they evolve.
  • Attend Constant Contact partner meetings and present updated coverage gaps and new recruiting plans.
  • Attend tradeshows and industry conferences for recruiting new partners.
  • Maintain a pipeline of active partners by sector.
  • Update CRM daily.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts with other vertical channel account managers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in a partner or channel environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess vertical markets and identify top sectors and partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage partners effectively.
  • Ability to develop and execute business plans collaboratively with partners.
  • Experience in CRM software and maintaining accurate records of partner interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
