About the position

The Sales Account Manager at Volm Companies is responsible for selling the company's products and services within a designated territory. This role involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying new sales opportunities, and collaborating with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and effective sales strategies. The Sales Account Manager will act as a knowledgeable consultant to customers, helping them find solutions tailored to their needs while promoting Volm's extensive range of packaging products and equipment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Sell Volm products and services to customers in the assigned territory.
  • Assist customers in finding solutions to their needs.
  • Develop long-lasting customer relationships by building trust.
  • Communicate the features and benefits of Volm products compared to competitors.
  • Organize time and resources for adequate customer contact.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain accurate records.
  • Expand sales network through cold calls, referrals, and attending events.
  • Utilize current price lists and product literature for customer quotes.
  • Partner with Customer Service teams to enter orders accurately.
  • Identify and expedite resolutions to customer problems and complaints.
  • Collaborate with management to provide insights on customer needs and market trends.
  • Analyze the assigned territory for industry trends and product changes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business, communications, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10 years of direct sales experience preferred.
  • Sales experience in the fresh produce, onion, and/or potato industry preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced negotiation skills to resolve customer issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capacity to think critically and analyze details.
