About the position

The Sales Account Manager at Air Products is responsible for managing customer relationships and driving new business development in the chemical industry, specifically within the Midwest region. This role involves leading the sales process from prospecting to contract negotiation, focusing on selling a portfolio of liquid and bulk products to various industries such as Food/Beverage, Metals Processing, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemicals. The position is based in the Milwaukee, WI area and requires a strong emphasis on field presence and collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing customer accounts and relationships to create customer value and increase wallet share.
  • Develop new business by selling products, equipment, and services to new and competitive accounts.
  • Maintain a high rate of daily call activity and follow up on direct marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and other customer-facing teams to enhance sales efforts.
  • Work effectively in a matrixed organization and engage with sales and marketing professionals across the company.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience with strong technical aptitude.
  • 3-4 years of demonstrated sales experience, preferably in the industrial gas sector.
  • Strong analytical abilities and financial acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior presentation skills and the ability to work independently.
