About the position

The Sales Account Specialist for the Fort Worth, TX Territory at TELA Bio is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales generation for the company's OviTex product portfolio. This position requires a proactive approach in developing and maintaining strong relationships with both prospective and existing clients. The successful candidate will work closely with the Territory Manager to effectively communicate complex clinical data, ensuring that surgeons are well-informed in their product selection based on patient co-morbidities and wound classifications. In this role, the Sales Account Specialist will support the Account Manager in planning and implementing a comprehensive sales development plan tailored to the assigned territory. This includes preparing and implementing materials that effectively communicate complex clinical data, collaborating with the Commercial Operations team to ensure successful outcomes for clients, and assisting in the development of business plans that align with both short-term revenue objectives and long-term growth opportunities. The position also involves maintaining and updating the firm's CRM database to ensure that client information is current and accurate. Participation in national and regional commercial team meetings is expected, where sharing best practices with peers will be crucial for replicating success across the team. The role may require travel within the territory, and the candidate must possess a valid driver's license to facilitate this travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support Account Manager in planning and implementing sales development plan for assigned territory.
  • Prepare and implement materials to communicate complex clinical data to assist surgeons in appropriate product selection.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Operations team to ensure successful outcomes for clients in the assigned territory.
  • Assist in developing and implementing business plans to meet short-term revenue objectives and optimize long-term opportunities.
  • Maintain and update the firm's CRM database with current client information.
  • Participate in national and regional commercial team meetings and share best practices with peers.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in a relevant degree program.
  • Minimum 3+ years of sales experience in the life science industry, preferably in the biologics space.
  • Experience in hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, or plastic/soft tissue reconstruction preferred.
  • Experience handling biologic tissue-based materials.
  • Knowledge of clinical needs of physicians and mechanisms of action of host response to biologic implants.
  • Ability to identify potential market opportunities based on unmet client needs.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Relationship development skills.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Collaborative/team orientation.
