The Sales and Application Engineer - Infrastructure at Kistler is a pivotal role focused on driving sales performance and fostering business growth within the Infrastructure and Traffic Solutions sector in North America, particularly in the Western United States. This position is designed for an individual who can engage effectively with primary customer groups, including Departments of Transportation (DOT), Systems Integrators in traffic, and Resellers. The role requires a strategic approach to sales, emphasizing the importance of building and maintaining robust networks within the Aerospace & Defense sector. On a typical day, the Sales and Application Engineer will collaborate with external consultants and engage in client meetings to expand their network. They will identify potential clients and key decision-makers within target organizations, aligning their strategies with the Sales Manager to penetrate markets such as Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing, Engineering, Satellite Systems, and Government Agencies. The engineer will develop and execute tailored sales strategies in partnership with the Sales Manager, ensuring adherence to business unit directives while focusing on the unique needs of the Aerospace & Defense markets in North America. The role also involves scouting for new application opportunities and understanding market requirements within the Aerospace & Defense industry. The engineer will work closely with the Sales Manager and Application Experts to develop specialized solutions that meet these needs. Conducting comprehensive competitive analyses will be essential to inform sales and marketing strategies, helping to shape Kistler's unique value proposition in the designated territory. Additionally, the Sales and Application Engineer will provide on-site sales support, fostering client relationships and executing strategies for key accounts. They will assist the marketing team in developing targeted communications and planning for trade shows, advertising initiatives, and press releases specific to the Aerospace & Defense domain. Participation in industry-specific trade shows is also a key responsibility, including overseeing follow-ups on inquiries generated from these events. The engineer will lead and coordinate local initiatives within the Aerospace & Defense sector, encompassing sales, application & service, marketing, and business unit activities, all aimed at driving growth and market penetration. Finally, they will provide active support in defining and executing business unit-specific strategies to achieve targeted revenue growth in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
