About the position

The Sales & Event Manager at Hotel Vin is responsible for selling, planning, coordinating, and servicing all aspects of events and private dining. This role involves managing group business and social events, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting budgeted revenue goals. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients to drive repeat business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers.
  • Respond quickly and timely to all calls, emails, and leads within 24 business hours.
  • Develop strong, professional long-term business relationships.
  • Understand Hotel Vin's business strategies and goals to create individual action plans.
  • Create and distribute event orders (EOs) with setup, diagrams, A/V, and food and beverage requirements.
  • Ensure all EOs are signed by clients and distributed to the culinary team.
  • Obtain correct billing information and communicate deposit schedules to customers.
  • Maintain accurate information and revenues in the system for forecasting and billing.
  • Organize files with all required information.
  • Prepare signage and food cards for each group.
  • Attend and assist in facilitating all Event Order meetings and other leadership meetings.
  • Work closely with culinary and operations teams on logistics and event execution.
  • Establish profitable and competitive private event menus with Food and Beverage & Sales leadership teams.
  • Greet all groups upon arrival and ensure client satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Follow up with clients after functions to ensure satisfaction and address challenges.
  • Communicate necessary feedback to various departments post-event.
  • Ensure all billing is collected and processed correctly.
  • Assist other sales/catering managers with site inspections as needed.
  • Participate in property-specific customer functions.
  • Assist with reporting as necessary, including monthly location reports and annual sales plans.
  • Provide operational support during events and drive sales initiatives.
  • Work with event vendors and provide event recaps with suggestions for improvement.
  • Represent the hotel professionally and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Previous sales experience in Hospitality Sales and/or events.
  • Experience with Marriott's System CI/TY strongly preferred.
  • Experience in selling, planning, and executing events is required.
  • Proven track record of sales performance and marketing programs that drive event revenue.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Computer savvy with experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Adobe, Social Tables, OpenTable, CI/TY, LightSpeed & BirchStreet preferred.
  • Ability to learn new systems and follow defined formats by Coury Hospitality and Marriott International.
  • Excellent time management, self-management, and self-motivation skills.
  • Organizational savvy with a keen focus on detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Determination and commitment to achieve financial expectations.
  • Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
