This internship position at the Westin Portland Harborview is a temporary opportunity designed for students from the University of Southern Maine, offering a one-time, paid internship of 150 hours in the areas of Sales, Marketing, and Banquets. The internship is structured to allow interns to work between 5 to 10 hours weekly, aligning with the academic calendar of the Fall semester of 2024. Upon completion of the 150 hours, the internship will conclude, but there may be opportunities for continued employment through a formal application and interview process. Interns will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of hotel operations, particularly focusing on event planning and coordination, vendor relations, customer relationship management, and sales techniques. They will learn effective negotiation skills, product knowledge, revenue management, and market analysis, which are essential for a successful career in hospitality sales and marketing.
