About the position

The Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of selling and marketing independent living residences. This role involves direct sales, managing team performance, and leading the lead generation program, which includes advertising, referral development, and event programs. The director will work closely with the Senior Housing Marketing and Sales team to ensure that occupancy goals are met and that marketing strategies are effectively executed.

Responsibilities

  • Meet personal and team performance goals by managing sales activity.
  • Use Direct Sales Performance Indicators (DSPI) to set goals and diagnose areas of strength or needed improvement.
  • Plan, develop, and execute community independent living occupancy development, including annual marketing planning.
  • Execute sales, marketing, referral, and advertising objectives as outlined in the annual marketing plan.
  • Develop and manage the Promotion and Sales budget.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input into C3 Leads and C3 LinC or other community-specific systems.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Executive Director and other leadership team members.
  • Manage prospect inquiries and ensure timely follow-through.
  • Supervise the performance of Real Estate Agents, Marketing Coordinator, and other team members, engaging in coaching activities.
  • Staff the office to meet business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely reports as required.
  • Stay updated about operational, competitive, and company information to respond effectively to inquiries.
  • Adhere to Life Care Services/Sales First standards as identified in the Senior Housing Marketing and Sales Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Maintain consistency with community and Life Care Services/Sales First brand guidelines.
  • Plan and execute seminars and events as identified in the marketing plan.
  • Select, train, evaluate, and counsel department personnel.
  • Manage advertising agency and advertising plan.
  • Attend and lead in-services and community training sessions as needed.
  • Participate as an active member of the community leadership team.
  • Assume responsibilities for personal work areas and maintain them in a presentable manner.
  • Implement Life Care Services Extraordinary Impressions best practices in the marketing office.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Assume Broker responsibilities for Rancho San Antonio Retirement Housing Corporation or work with the Broker of Record to ensure compliance with real estate practices.
  • Supervise real estate agents and ensure all licenses are current.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and systems to manage real estate transactions, including document review and maintenance.
  • Adhere to the Realtor Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing preferred or relevant Real Estate/Sales experience.
  • Current CA Real estate license within 90 days and eligibility to become a broker within one year.
  • Supervisory experience and/or capability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Working knowledge of regulations impacting the industry.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining a department budget.
