About the position

The Sales and Operations Planning Leader will play a crucial role in enhancing operations planning processes within a manufacturing environment. This position involves leading a high-performing team, implementing best practices in demand and supply chain planning, and utilizing expertise in collaboration to optimize results. The role is focused on continuous improvement and innovation, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and reporting to drive decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to planning, sales, and operations teams.
  • Implement best practices for demand planning, capacity planning, and supply chain planning.
  • Confirm accurate sales figures and obtain commitment to sales forecasts.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to decrease lead time and improve on-time delivery to customers.
  • Develop and maintain accurate raw material and finished goods inventory reports.
  • Ensure accurate stock levels of raw materials and packaging components before adding to production schedules.
  • Anticipate planning based on customer prior year purchases and current stock levels.
  • Communicate with customers regarding forecast demand reviews and lead times on finished goods.
  • Resolve supply-demand issues and complaints.
  • Collect data, perform analyses, and report findings to the leadership team.
  • Implement continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) in manufacturing and distribution.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of new processes, technology, and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of production scheduling and/or material planning experience within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with sales and operations planning.
  • Experience with data mining, analytics, and reporting.
  • Intermediate or advanced skills using Excel.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven individual.
  • Natural problem-solver with excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of value streams, cost drivers, and core components of cost structures.
