About the position

The Membership Representative at Sam's Club is a salaried role focused on driving membership engagement and sales. This position requires a strong sales background and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. The representative will be responsible for teaching and training associates, engaging with current members, and developing business-to-business relationships to grow membership. The role involves multitasking and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a positive attitude and a member-ready environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive membership in the assigned club by communicating goals, results, and feedback.
  • Ensure signage and marketing collateral related to membership programs is up to date.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation and forms.
  • Enable associate-membership engagement by identifying training gaps and needs.
  • Provide information on membership benefits and promote the value of company products and services.
  • Teach associates to process and sell memberships, upgrades, and credit accounts.
  • Communicate relevant information on membership events, both inside and outside of the club.
  • Assist associates with the execution of membership plans to achieve sales goals.
  • Sell memberships in the field and in the club using various techniques.
  • Educate members on membership types, programs, and benefits.
  • Respond to membership questions and concerns, encouraging renewals.
  • Demonstrate exemplary actions and workload execution by modeling and training processes to associates.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring, training, and mentoring.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field OR 4 years' experience in sales, retail or related field.
  • 1 year's sales experience in business to business sales.
