Sales and Use Tax Accountant

ClearWell Dynamics is seeking candidates for the position of Sales and Use Tax Accountant located in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities

• Accumulates, reviews, and compiles transaction data to accurately and timely file Multi-State Sales tax returns
• Reconciles sales tax general ledger accounts
• Performs tax research and consults on sales tax issues relating to different transactions and operational changes in the business
• Monitors changes in tax law to ensure compliance with multiple state laws
• Maintains Exemption Certificates and Resale Certificates
• Analyzes and monitors Direct Pay Permit policies and procedures
• Conducts self-audits for multiple divisions to ensure compliance with sales and use tax laws
• Manages the process for meeting sales tax audit requirements including planning, accumulating information requests and addressing all audit findings
• Prepares and files various tax forms related to the trucking divisions to include IFTA Tax, Heavy Use Tax, and annual Fuel Tax Reports
• Reconciles Use tax general ledger accounts
• Performs Use tax research and consults on issues relating to different transactions and operational changes in the business
• Provides sales and use tax training to corporate and division office personnel
• Assists with special projects as required
