Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to join our team in Dallas, TX. This role is crucial for the sales and project management team, providing essential technical support both internally and to the Electrical Engineering community. The Sales Application Engineer will promote the use of MTU Onsite Energy products and Stewart Stevenson services, ensuring that our offerings are well-represented and understood by consulting engineering firms. In this position, the Sales Application Engineer will conduct face-to-face visits with consulting engineering firms within a defined territory, promoting the specification of MTU Onsite Energy generators and accessories. The role involves assisting the engineering community with technical support related to generators and associated equipment, from the design phase through to budget proposals. The engineer will also help engineering firms with written specifications, aiming to influence these specifications to align with MTU Onsite Energy designs. Additionally, the Sales Application Engineer will provide load sizing studies using proprietary MTU software tools, assist with site layout drawings utilizing a pre-engineered drawing library, and create custom electrical interconnect drawings between MTU generators and vendor-supplied switchgear. Collaboration with the sales team is essential to communicate new projects in the design stage, and the engineer will work closely with the internal project management team to review engineering submittals and provide technical product assistance. The role also includes performing Lunch & Learn presentations to educate engineering firms about MTU Onsite Energy products, acting as a liaison between customers, vendors, and relevant company departments to resolve inquiries and issues. The Sales Application Engineer will represent Stewart Stevenson at industry events such as EGSA, IEEE, and 7 by 24, and will undertake miscellaneous sales functions as requested by their supervisor.
