About the position

As a Sales Engineer at Emerson, you will play a crucial role in our Global Industry Sales team based in Marshalltown, Iowa. This position is designed for engineers who are eager to leverage their problem-solving skills to develop tailored solutions for our customers. You will be the primary source of factory expertise for our global sales channel, responsible for driving both commercial and technical reviews. Your role will involve maintaining strong application knowledge, engaging in pricing discussions, conducting contract reviews, and strategizing project approaches. You will also be tasked with delivering customer presentations, all of which require strong engagement, communication, responsiveness, technical expertise, and effective price management. In this fast-paced environment, you will provide application and technical support to our global sales teams, which includes valve sizing and selection, field issue resolution, and product presentations. You will act as a liaison between the sales network and our strategic product business units, ensuring that the voice of the customer is heard within our organization and engineering teams. Your responsibilities will also include leading pricing discussions, setting pricing in alignment with divisional objectives, and gaining necessary approvals from senior management. Additionally, you will visit customers to promote new technology, support our sales channel, and gain industry and application knowledge. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with sales engineers, product engineers, and marketing managers. You will review commercial terms and conditions for contracts, aligning on acceptable business risks, and expedite key customer complaints to ensure timely resolutions. A comprehensive understanding of the Fisher portfolio, including new products and critical service valves, will be essential for your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Review commercial terms and conditions for contracts and align on acceptable business risks.
  • Expedite and advance key customer complaints in focused industry segments.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or a qualified technical 4-year degree with combined experience.
  • Experience working on teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Business insight.
  • Open to travel.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
