About the position

The Sales Applications Engineer at Elma Electronic Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Regional Sales Manager and Embedded Computing Architects by providing technical sales support. This position involves interfacing with customers and engineering teams to address technical inquiries, evaluate requests for quotations (RFQs), and ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background and strong customer service skills, contributing to the company's commitment to excellence in embedded computing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Recommend solutions based on current Elma products and customer requirements.
• Provide product application engineering to support design, acting as an interface between Sales and Engineering.
• Prepare cost proposals and quotations for the Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
• Support the RSM in preparing system configuration descriptions and other order-specific configuration documents.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Maintain detailed customer technical requirements and provide prompt feedback to Engineering on open technical issues from customers.
• Visit customer sites as required.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• AS/BS in a technical field (Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience preferred.
• Entry-level candidates will be considered.
• Experience and/or exposure working in electronic, electronic packaging, or high-tech manufacturing preferred.
• Strong PC skills with MS Office, specifically strong Excel skills required.
• Experience with CAD software is a plus.
• Sales experience and exposure to Single Board Computer, Ethernet Switch, Storage, and Software integration knowledge is a plus.
• Organized with meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
• Ability to work with different disciplines.
• Some understanding of contract review is preferred.
