About the position

The Area Manager position at Performance Foodservice is a critical role responsible for managing a geographical sales territory. This position ensures that both independent and regional account business is developed effectively while achieving budgeted sales and profit objectives. The Area Manager will regularly engage with existing and potential customers, fostering relationships that drive business growth. This role requires the development and execution of strategic business plans tailored to the specific needs of the territory, ensuring that resources and time are managed efficiently to attain desired results. In addition to customer engagement, the Area Manager will play a vital role in building business through the support of company-branded products. This includes managing pricing strategies and monitoring compliance with credit terms to ensure that all transactions align with company policies. The Area Manager will be expected to leverage their sales experience and industry knowledge to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within their assigned territory, ultimately contributing to the overall success of Performance Foodservice. This position is full-time and operates on the first shift, providing a structured work schedule that allows for effective management of sales activities throughout the day. The Area Manager will be a key player in the sales team, working closely with other sales representatives, chefs, and consultants to deliver exceptional service and support to customers.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years of sales-related work experience
  • Basic/Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management or related field
  • Two or more years of foodservice sales experience
  • Foodservice distribution industry experience
  • Culinary training and/or experience, such as sous chef, chef, or kitchen manager
  • Experience with sales-related systems, such as online ordering, data entry, pricing tools, and sales dashboards.
