About the position

The Sales Area Manager is responsible for managing a geographical sales territory, focusing on developing independent and regional account business while achieving budgeted sales and profit objectives. This role involves regular customer engagement, business plan execution, and effective resource management to drive results and support company-branded products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a geographical sales territory to develop independent and regional account business.
  • Regularly call on existing and potential customers to build relationships.
  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve sales objectives.
  • Effectively manage time and resources to attain results.
  • Build business through support of company branded products.
  • Manage pricing and monitor credit term compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years sales related work experience
  • Basic/Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management or related field
  • Two or more years of foodservice sales experience
  • Foodservice distribution industry experience
  • Culinary training and/or experience, i.e. sous chef, chef, kitchen manager
  • Sales related systems experience, i.e. online ordering, data entry, pricing tools, sales dashboard, etc.
