About the position

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Sales Area Manager to oversee and enhance the performance of sales staff within a designated geographic area. This role is pivotal in managing, training, and motivating the sales team to achieve sales goals while ensuring compliance with company policies. The Sales Area Manager will be responsible for handling buyer inquiries, signing documentation related to home purchases, and facilitating the closing process. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to ethical business practices, contributing to the overall goodwill and profitability of the company. In this position, the Sales Area Manager will directly manage a team of sales representatives, which includes responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training new employees. The role also involves planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as appraising performance and addressing any complaints or issues that arise. The Sales Area Manager will enforce company policies and ensure that the sales team is well-equipped to meet or exceed set sales goals. Additionally, the manager will conduct competitive analyses on products, features, and neighborhood amenities to inform sales strategies. The Sales Area Manager will also engage in realtor outreach, including organizing realtor breakfasts, lunches, and office presentations to foster relationships and drive sales. Collaborating with the Marketing Department and division management on advertising initiatives is another key aspect of this role. The manager will work closely with sales representatives on marketing promotions and create new incentives for neighborhoods to attract potential buyers. Overall, the Sales Area Manager will conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner, ensuring a positive experience for customers and contributing to the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all sales staff in a specific geographic area.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for the sales team.

  • Recruit and hire future Sales Representatives.

  • Create new incentives for neighborhoods to drive sales.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department on advertising initiatives.
  • Work with Sales Representatives on all marketing promotions.
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner.

Requirements

  • Must have NV Real Estate License.
  • Four to six years of related experience and/or training.
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.
