The Area Manager position at Performance Foodservice is a pivotal role that involves managing a designated geographical sales territory. Additionally, the position requires a strong focus on building business through the support of company-branded products, ensuring that pricing strategies are managed effectively, and monitoring compliance with credit terms. Responsibilities

  • Manage a geographical sales territory to develop independent and regional account business.
  • Regularly call on existing and potential customers to build relationships and drive sales.
  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve budgeted sales and profit objectives.
  • Effectively manage time and resources to attain results in sales performance.
  • Build business through support of company branded products.
  • Manage pricing strategies and monitor compliance with credit terms.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years of sales-related work experience
  • Basic/Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management or related field
  • Two or more years of foodservice sales experience
  • Foodservice distribution industry experience
  • Culinary training and/or experience, such as sous chef, chef, or kitchen manager
  • Experience with sales-related systems, such as online ordering, data entry, pricing tools, and sales dashboards.
