About the position

KLSR TV Eugene is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sales Assistant to join our dynamic sales team. This full-time position is crucial for supporting our sales operations and ensuring the smooth execution of various administrative tasks. The Sales Assistant will thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, contributing significantly to the overall success of the sales team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude. In this role, the Sales Assistant will be responsible for entering TV sales orders into our internal operating system, ensuring that all entries are completed accurately and within strict deadlines. The position also involves maintaining schedules and paperwork, resolving any discrepancies related to advertiser schedules, and assisting local sales Account Executives and Sales Managers with order entry and sales activity reports. General office duties will include answering phones, providing backup support for other assistants, and performing key clerical tasks as needed. Additionally, the Sales Assistant will update station materials, including media kits and program one-sheets, and prepare post-campaign reports. Daily responsibilities will also include the distribution of sales reports and order entries, as well as collaboration with advertising agency representatives regarding makegoods and contracts. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Enter TV sales orders into the internal operating system while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Maintain schedules and paperwork related to sales activities.
  • Resolve any advertiser schedule discrepancies.
  • Assist local sales Account Executives and Sales Managers with order entry and sales activity reports.
  • Perform general office duties including answering phones and providing backup for other assistants.
  • Update station materials including media kits, program one-sheets, and other sales documents.
  • Prepare post-campaign reports and distribute daily sales reports.
  • Work with advertising agency representatives on makegoods, contracts, etc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional and positive attitude with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to switch focus quickly and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Accurate computer data entry skills and ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills with quick response time and accurate issue resolution.
  • Results-driven and highly accountable with exceptional multi-tasking abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with computer keying and familiarity with broadcasting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Media experience preferred, especially with Wide Orbit traffic system.
