About the position

The Sales Associate at Planet 13 is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting in the education and sale of cannabis products. This role requires adherence to company policies and state regulations, particularly in cash handling and compliance with medical and retail sales laws. The Sales Associate will work the overnight shift and is expected to maintain a clean and organized work environment while actively engaging with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Create an exceptional customer service experience through education and product knowledge.
• Answer customer questions regarding pricing and product usage.
• Participate in upselling products to meet monthly sales goals.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the endocannabinoid system and product effects.
• Comply with all state regulations related to medical and retail sales.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures diligently.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces and the register area.
• Remove and record cash from the register at the end of the shift.
• Report any issues to the management on duty.
• Ensure daily compliance with MME policies, including state/local regulations and security protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations with American money and measurements.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and deal with problems.
