About the position

The Sales Associate at the Halsey Mini-Mart is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and promoting the company's brand and products. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them in recognizing their needs, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The associate will maintain store organization, handle sales transactions, and manage inventory while adhering to a flexible work schedule that may include various hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage and connect with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions and events.
  • Provide premier customer service and build positive relationships.
  • Maintain store appearance and organization.
  • Cross-sell products and suggest items based on customer needs.
  • Upsell products and learn about product features and trends.
  • Process transactions using a Point-of-Sales system, including cash handling.
  • Complete inventory processes and ensure merchandise is accurately ticketed.
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule and complete work assignments.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to business needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Retail experience preferred but not required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
