About the position

The Sales Associate II (Key Holder) at the Rescue Mission is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a retail environment. This role involves assisting with store management tasks, promoting merchandise, and ensuring a clean and organized store. The Sales Associate II will also handle cash reconciliation and open/close the store in the absence of management, while fostering a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Display, promote, size, price, and tag merchandise for customers.
• Assist store management in running an efficient and service-oriented store.
• Provide customer service by greeting customers and answering questions.
• Handle opening and closing procedures in the absence of management.
• Perform cash reconciliation at the end of shifts when management is unavailable.
• Stock shelves, counters, racks, and tables as needed.
• Promote sales by setting up displays and informing customers of special sales.
• Process payments through cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store environment.
• Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere and comply with safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• 1-3 years of retail experience preferred.
• Previous customer service experience is necessary.
• Experience with cash register and reconciliation preferred.
• Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally.
