About the position

The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is dedicated to assisting men and women in their journey through rehabilitation without any fees. The organization relies heavily on the commitment and hard work of its employees to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of its programs. As a Sales Associate/Material Handler at the Orange Store, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program, which is vital to the community. This position is not just about selling; it’s about creating a positive shopping and donor experience, enhancing customer service, and fostering teamwork. You will be part of a dedicated retail team that is committed to the mission of 'Doing The Most Good' in the community. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all customers and donors receive a warm greeting and prompt assistance. You will stock items for sale, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store and donation area, and follow all cash register policies in accordance with TSA guidelines. Your responsibilities will also include receiving and stocking inventory, providing quality assurance by inspecting products, assisting donors with their donations, and performing various other tasks as assigned by management. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service and a commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards within the store.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all Customers and Donors needs are met by a genuine greeting and giving prompt, and courteous assistance.
• Stocking priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
• Assisting in the maintenance of the store and donation area, to keep it clean, neat, and organized.
• Performing cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Following all POS/Cash Register Policies in accordance with TSA Policies and Procedures.
• Maintaining safety and compliance standards.
• Attending required Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receiving, unloading, and stocking incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Providing Quality Assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
• Courteously assisting the donor in the removal of all donated items from the donor's vehicle and providing a receipt.
• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stacking material as instructed by Management.
• Performing other written and/or verbal duties as may be assigned by Management.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
