The Sales Associate (Part Time) position at Navy Exchange Services (NEX) involves being the face of the company, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and promoting the brand. The associate will also handle sales transactions and inventory processes while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage and connect with customers to understand their needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions and events.
  • Provide premier customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Maintain store appearance and organization.
  • Cross-sell and upsell products based on customer needs and current trends.
  • Process transactions using a Point-of-Sales system, including cash handling and discounts.
  • Complete inventory processes and ensure merchandise is accurately ticketed.
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule and complete work assignments accurately.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Retail experience preferred but not required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
