About the position

As a Sales Associate at Family Dollar, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive shopping environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their selections, processing transactions, and ensuring the store is clean and well-stocked. This position requires a proactive approach to customer engagement and a commitment to store operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer engagement in a positive and approachable manner.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, well-stocked store for customers during their shopping experience.
• Help in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks and organizing it in the store.
• Transport merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Independently stock shelves and recover merchandise in the store.
• Accurately handle customer funds and process transactions using the POS system.
• Remain constantly aware of customer activity to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to maintain effective and profitable store operations.

Requirements

• Prefer completion of high school or equivalent education.
• Ability to follow directives and interpret retail operational documents as assigned.
• Prefer experience working in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environments.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height.
• Must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
