The Sales Associate/Sorter position at New Life Center is a part-time role that requires working between 24 to 32 hours per week, primarily from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Saturday. The Sales Associate/Sorter will be responsible for greeting customers warmly, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and assisting customers in locating desired items. Additionally, the role involves processing purchases accurately and efficiently, as well as supporting various areas of the store and warehouse as needed. In this role, the Sales Associate will act as the face of the thrift store, providing excellent customer service, answering inquiries, and promoting sales and promotions. Responsibilities include ensuring the cash drawer is accurate at the beginning and end of each day, processing customer transactions, and maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas. The Sales Associate will also be responsible for stocking the sales floor with priced merchandise and ensuring the fitting room is clean and organized. As a Sorter, the individual will provide friendly service to donors, assisting them with unloading donations and offering tax receipts. The Sorter will maintain the cleanliness of the production area, sort through donations, evaluate their quality, and determine appropriate pricing. This role also involves providing direction to staff or volunteers regarding stocking and locating items on the sales floor, ensuring the store remains attractive and organized for shoppers. The Sales Associate/Sorter will assist warehouse staff in organizing donated goods appropriately. This position reports to Tim Kahnk, the Social Enterprise Director, who has a background in warehouse operations and logistics.
