About the position

The Sales Associate at Westlake Ace Hardware is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with store operations, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role emphasizes the importance of teamwork and the company's core values, aiming to create a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware.
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store, thanking them when they leave.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously, and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaints that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
• Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service.
• Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
• Assist with receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Maintain back stock levels and assist with daily maintenance and cleanliness of the sales floor and stock room.
• Provide assistance to Department Specialists with price changes and special orders.
• Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
• Operate forklift with proper training.
• Communicate any Store Support Center issues to the General Manager for follow-up.
• Participate in store meetings and perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Formal retail experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25lbs), and climb.
