About the position

The Sales Associate at Westlake Ace Hardware is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with store operations, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role emphasizes the importance of teamwork and the company's core values, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware.
  • Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
  • Greet customers entering and throughout the store, thanking them when they leave.
  • Maintain a friendly and outgoing demeanor while working with customers and associates.
  • Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly and courteously.
  • Forward customer complaints that cannot be handled to management.
  • Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout.
  • Assist customers with personalized service to amaze them every time.
  • Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
  • Receive, check in, and stock merchandise throughout the store.
  • Maintain back stock levels and cleanliness of the sales floor and stock room.
  • Assist with merchandise resets and ensure signage is current.
  • Operate a forklift with proper training and communicate store issues to management.
  • Participate in store meetings and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Formal retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25lbs), and climb.
