About the position

The Sales Associate Team Leader at GPM Investments LLC is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and leading a team to ensure a friendly and efficient shopping experience. This role involves various tasks including sales transactions, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store. The position offers opportunities for growth and emphasizes a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers in a friendly manner as they enter the store and provides fast and efficient service.
  • Rings customer sales using an electronic cash register, receives money, gives correct change, and processes refunds for returned merchandise.
  • Assists with shift change by counting money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of a shift.
  • Uses special equipment to process specialty products, such as money orders, credit card purchases, checks, and lottery sales and redemptions.
  • Checks identification for restricted sales and ensures compliance with age restrictions.
  • Checks and replenishes stock on food service supplies such as cups, lids, condiments, napkins, straws, and stirrers.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all equipment used for service or stocking food service products using the three sink method.
  • Cleans all areas, including countertops, microwaves, shelves, floors, windows, cooler doors, food service equipment, restrooms, and parking lots, using proper cleaning procedures and materials.
  • Cleans and empties trash containers and stocks shelves and cooler, rotating and front-facing stock.
  • Removes all damaged and out-of-code merchandise from the shelves and prices merchandise according to the price book.
  • Checks in vendor deliveries as needed using company guidelines and completes bad merchandise forms.
  • Orders merchandise and uses current training materials to complete all necessary training evaluations and documents.
  • Provides feedback to management on training programs and materials and monitors cash levels and security procedures during shifts to ensure compliance.
  • Reviews job assignments for completeness and assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned to accommodate store operational needs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
