About the position

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Sales Associate (Trauma) for DePuy Synthes located in Winchester, VA. This position is integral to the MedTech Sales function, specifically within Clinical Sales & Surgeons, and operates on a commission basis. The Sales Associate will play a crucial role in providing clinical and customer support in hospitals and during procedures, ensuring that customer service, sales logistics, technical expertise, and product knowledge are maintained at the highest level. The Sales Associate will support sales objectives, cover cases, and maintain relationships with surgeons and accounts within a designated geographic territory. This role requires a deep understanding of the product portfolio and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve sales outcomes. The Sales Associate will assist the DePuy Synthes sales organization in retaining and further penetrating existing customers while supporting product conversions with new customers. They will guide and assist surgeons in the operating room, utilizing their clinical and product knowledge to ensure accurate utilization of DePuy Synthes products. The role involves attending surgeries, ensuring the proper equipment is available, and providing consultation to the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department. Additionally, the Sales Associate will troubleshoot and provide technical assistance, handle customer requests, and lead hospital billing processes. They will also prepare sales reports and documents as needed, maintain and track equipment and assets, and ensure that promotional materials are presented effectively. Customer satisfaction and retention are paramount, and the Sales Associate will work to improve customers' insights into DePuy Synthes's value proposition and solutions. They will differentiate DePuy Synthes products from competitors by providing unique insights to customers, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience and driving sales success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist DePuy Synthes sales organization in retaining and supporting further penetration with existing customers.
  • Support product conversions with new customers and assist in attaining established sales goals.
  • Apply knowledge of sales process, product portfolio, and customer knowledge to improve sales outcomes.
  • Guide and assist surgeons in the operating room through clinical and product knowledge.
  • Use product knowledge to present, demonstrate, and ensure accurate utilization of DePuy Synthes products.
  • Support customers by attending surgeries, ensuring proper equipment availability and performance.
  • Provide consultation to Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance; handle customer requests and lead hospital billing processes.
  • Prepare sales reports and documents as needed.
  • Maintain, track, and effectively deploy equipment and assets throughout assigned area.
  • Ensure all promotional materials are maintained in a presentable manner.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and retention; improve customers' insights into DePuy Synthes value proposition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree or Medical Certification (CST, PT, etc.) + minimum of 2 years of professional and/or related experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional and/or related experience.
  • Recently transitioned from Active Military Duty.
  • Ability to work in a lab/operating room environment.
  • A valid driver's license issued in the United States.
  • Ability to travel which may include weekend and/or overnight travel.
  • Residence in or ability to relocate to the posted territory.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, influencing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Efficient, organized, self-motivated, positive, and pro-active.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, protocols, and solutions preferred.
