About the position

The Retail Used Firearms Outfitter position is responsible for evaluating, purchasing, and processing used firearms while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves ensuring compliance with all legal requirements for firearm transactions and maintaining visual standards in the department. The position requires effective communication with customers to assist them in making informed buying decisions and handling any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, appraise, and purchase used firearms using firearms knowledge and resources.
• Acquire all firearms legally in accordance with ATF, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Complete all necessary ATF and state forms for background checks and firearm transfers.
• Maintain visual standards by restocking, cleaning fixtures, and general housekeeping in the department.
• Participate in ongoing training related to firearms, compliance, and selling techniques.
• Provide legendary customer service by assisting customers in making buying decisions and product recommendations.
• Handle customer issues using good judgment and logic.
• Communicate effectively the benefits of company programs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in the firearms industry or related field.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to safely handle firearms.
• Knowledge of purchasing firearms and current firearms models.
• Good understanding of retail and computer skills.
• Ability to appraise and determine the marketable value of used firearms.
• Strong work ethic and multitasking ability.
