About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at Gifted Hands Gift Shop is responsible for supporting store management in daily operations, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining inventory and store organization. This part-time position involves assisting customers in a boutique environment that specializes in artisan-made gifts and custom items, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide assistance to enhance their shopping experience.
• Assist in inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
• Ring customer transactions with the point of sale system and package gifts.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, products, and policies to provide accurate information to customers.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the store.
• Accurately tag merchandise with price labels.
• Replenish the sales floor.
• Assist customers in ordering custom items that we make in-house or order from vendors.
• Communicate with our production facility regarding custom order questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
• Previous retail experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Proficient in basic math and cash handling.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
