About the position

The Sales Associate at Hollywood Feed plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and maintaining store operations. This position involves assisting customers, managing inventory, and ensuring a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. The Sales Associate is expected to embody the company's commitment to doing what is right by the customer while fostering a love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers daily according to the Hollywood Feed customer service standards.
• Demonstrating the ability and knowledge to thoroughly explain store products to meet pet and customer needs.
• Communicating openly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers.
• Effectively operating both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintaining open and weekend availability.
• Unloading truck pallets and stocking shelves.
• Learning the Hollywood Feed point-of-sale system to check out customer purchases, create customer accounts, and open and close registers.
• Performing inventory management duties including inventories and cycle counts.
• Attending Hollywood Feed educational classes as scheduled.
• Keeping up with basic weekly store maintenance duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and creating displays.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent active listening skills.
• Excellent sales and customer service skills.
• Extensive knowledge of store products.
• Ability to anticipate customer needs and recommend products.
• Ability to operate or quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system.
