About the position

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our team at the Tile Outlet of Caldwell. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong understanding of retail operations, preferably in construction, tile, flooring, or cabinet sales. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in enhancing the customer experience, driving sales, and ensuring that our store runs smoothly. Your ability to engage with customers, provide product knowledge, and assist in daily operations will be essential to our success.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their shopping needs.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash transactions and maintain cash register integrity.
• Supervise sales floor activities to ensure compliance with store policies and procedures.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and services.
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers on features and benefits.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales area, ensuring that products are well-displayed.
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting inventory counts.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance overall store performance.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred in flooring, cabinets or countertops.
• Strong understanding of retail math and basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Experience in supervising or leading teams is a plus.
• Familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling and promoting products is highly valued.
