About the position

The Sales Associate at Petco is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting guests in selecting and purchasing animals, supplies, and services. This role emphasizes the importance of animal welfare and aims to create a positive shopping experience while achieving sales goals. The associate will engage with customers, process transactions, and maintain merchandise presentation, all while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a great experience by engaging with guests utilizing acquired skills and training.
• Assist guests in the proper selection of merchandise according to their identified needs.
• Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.
• Process transactions to create a great experience for each guest.
• Generate future business through a deep understanding of the guests and their pets.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for guests.
• Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise in the role.
• Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
