About the position

As a Sales Associate at Rack Room Shoes, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to adhere to and practice the company's service standards with each customer interaction. You will be expected to meet both sales and work goals as directed by store management while following the company's policies and procedures. Leading by example, you will demonstrate accuracy and completeness in your work, contributing to the overall success of the store team. In this position, you will control cash and maintain the accuracy of sales transactions. You will process all sales and POS terminal transactions in accordance with company policy and procedure, ensuring strict control of all monetary transactions and sales documentation. Your duties will include creating an excellent shopping experience for customers by being aware of and adhering to company service standards, maintaining a positive attitude, and being well-informed about products and promotions. You will also be responsible for promoting the company rewards program and other business initiatives, maintaining awareness of current sales promotions, and ensuring that merchandise is presented well and organized. This includes keeping the store clean and organized, developing product knowledge and fitting skills, and being vigilant about loss prevention concerns. Additionally, you will participate in physical inventories, assist in shipping and receiving merchandise, and help with merchandise placement on the sales floor when needed. Your role will involve working closely with customers, fellow sales associates, store management, and district/regional managers to achieve common goals and enhance the overall shopping experience.

Requirements

• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with customers and employees.
• Basic communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).
• Organizational skills and basic math skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.
