About the position

As a Sales Associate at Rack Room Shoes/Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while adhering to the company's service standards. Your primary goal will be to meet both sales and work objectives as directed by store management, ensuring compliance with the company's Policies and Procedures. You will lead by example, demonstrating accuracy and completeness in your work, and collaborating with your team to present the store and its merchandise in the best possible light. This role requires you to control cash and maintain the accuracy of sales transactions, processing all sales and POS terminal transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will also maintain strict control over all monetary transactions and sales documentation. In this position, you will create an excellent shopping experience for customers by being aware of and adhering to company service standards. A positive attitude, willingness to serve, and being well-informed about products and promotions are essential. You will promote the company rewards program and other business initiatives while maintaining awareness of current sales promotions. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining merchandise presentation, ensuring that stock is well arranged and merchandised properly, and keeping all areas of the store clean and organized. Developing and maintaining product knowledge and fitting skills is crucial, as is being aware of Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff members. You will participate in physical inventories, assist in shipping and receiving merchandise, and help with merchandise placement on the sales floor as needed. When performing cashier functions, you will ensure that all sales are processed according to existing policies and procedures, including checking all shoes for mates and processing all sales transactions accurately.

Requirements

• Basic communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal).
• Basic math skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.
