About the position

The Sales Associate at Petco is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by assisting guests in selecting and purchasing animals, supplies, and services. This role emphasizes the importance of animal welfare and customer engagement, ensuring that each interaction is positive and informative. The Sales Associate will also handle transactions, maintain merchandise presentation, and contribute to the overall success of the Pet Care Center.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to provide a great experience using acquired skills and training.
• Assist guests in selecting merchandise based on their needs.
• Demonstrate interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of animals.
• Process transactions to enhance the guest experience.
• Generate future business by understanding guests and their pets.
• Support the Pet Care Center in achieving sales goals.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed effectively.
• Complete training programs to maintain expertise in the role.
• Adhere to operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
