Responsibilities

  • Provide optimal guest experience services.
  • Assist guests in the proper selection of merchandise based on their needs.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.
  • Perform cashiering duties and manage point-of-sale transactions.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked and priced according to store standards.
  • Adhere to established operational guidelines and store policies.
  • Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Guest Experience Leader as needed.
  • Perform hourly animal health checks and maintain wellness cards for live animals.
  • Interact professionally with all contacts, emphasizing company interests.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all Petco guests, employing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience for all Omni-channel initiatives.
  • Assist in stocking and facing merchandise according to established standards.
  • Complete cash register transactions and assist with guest carry-out service.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and stocking merchandise according to procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for store partners, guests, and animals.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the store's professional image.
  • Assist store leadership in opening/closing the store and completing required paperwork.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Adhere to and promote established safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in animal welfare and health.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform cashiering duties and manage transactions accurately.
  • Knowledge of pet nutrition and products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs with equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail or customer service environments.
  • Knowledge of pet care and products.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
