About the position

The Sales Bench Manager for Tax Workflow MidMarket at Thomson Reuters is responsible for leading a team of Account Executives focused on selling tax and accounting solutions to mid-market clients. This role involves recruiting and training sales talent, providing ongoing coaching, and ensuring the team meets sales targets while preparing for territory placements. The manager will also oversee sales results and facilitate the transition of sales representatives into open territories.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, recruit, and hire top-tier sales talent for territory-based sales roles.
  • Partner with internal training teams to ensure comprehensive onboarding for new hires.
  • Guide new sales representatives through their initial training period to ensure a smooth ramp-up to full productivity.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and leadership to new sales executives, focusing on product knowledge and sales methodology.
  • Identify and address individual development needs to ensure continuous improvement in sales performance.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to align training and readiness for deployment into territory.
  • Facilitate the successful transition of fully ramped sales representatives into open territories.
  • Manage a pool of sales representatives for temporary coverage in open territories or high-need areas.
  • Oversee and drive sales results for the sales team, ensuring contribution to revenue generation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience leading a Sales Team is preferred.
  • Track record of success selling software to Tax Professionals is preferred.
  • Experience in planning and goal setting with individual reps and territory management.
  • Strong relationship building, selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of Tax Professional customers and their business model and workflows preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills to understand and solve client needs.
  • Ability to report on market and competitor activities.
  • Experience in making presentations across internal meetings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with tax workflow automation products like Checkpoint Edge & UltraTax.
  • Familiarity with sales metrics tracking such as active users and retention rates.
