About the position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Read AI plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth by qualifying inbound leads and conducting outbound prospecting. This position is unique as it combines responsibilities typically associated with Sales Development Representatives (SDR), Marketing Development Representatives (MDR), and marketing roles. The BDR will work closely with Account Executives to develop sales strategies and enhance brand awareness, contributing to the company's mission of improving communication through AI technology.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through outbound calls and targeted emails to potential clients.
  • Qualify prospective customers through targeted questions about their business strategy.
  • Spend approximately 40% of time qualifying inbound leads, 40% prospecting new customers, and 20% on marketing efforts.
  • Receive hands-on training with an emphasis on strategic selling and researching targeted accounts.
  • Use CRM strategically to record information and identify further opportunities in assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to create email and marketing campaigns.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, focusing on SaaS or technology solutions.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in an early-stage startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decision makers.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to quickly understand and articulate technical concepts and value propositions.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce) and sales enablement tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
