About the position

The Sales & Catering Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Detroit Troy Auburn Hills is responsible for generating catering business for the hotel by building strong relationships with clients, third parties, and community organizations. This full-time position involves prospecting for new business, responding to inquiries, executing contracts, and ensuring client expectations are met by the hotel team. The role offers opportunities for career advancement within the hospitality industry, particularly in sales and food and beverage operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build excellent relationships with clients, third parties, and community organizations to generate catering business.
  • Prospect for new business and respond to incoming RFPs and inquiries.
  • Execute contracts and BEOs (Banquet Event Orders).
  • Communicate client expectations to the hotel team.
  • Conduct sales calls, cold calls, and site tours.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work within the United States.
  • A four-year college/university degree and/or two years of hotel experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Catering Sales Experience is highly preferred.
  • BT Sales Experience is highly preferred.
  • Hilton Experience is preferred.
  • Sufficient education and/or literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel operations and food and beverage management.
