About the position

The Stone Center Manager at Dal-Tile Corporation is responsible for increasing product sales within the assigned store coverage area, developing and maintaining effective customer relationships, and managing store operations and personnel. This role aims to achieve company objectives by maximizing market penetration and margin potential while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Increase product sales within assigned store coverage areas to achieve company objectives.
  • Develop and retain effective working relationships with customers to exceed sales goals.
  • Manage store operations and personnel to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Achieve revenue, budget, and other business objectives for each fiscal year.
  • Define goals and objectives for Stone personnel to measure performance and communicate these objectives regularly.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the pursuit of store objectives with employees.
  • Communicate and work closely with customers to maximize market penetration and margin potential.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Advise customers on product selection, pricing, and sales volume while building customer relations.
  • Meet with key customers to negotiate and close deals.
  • Analyze and control expenditures of Stone Center to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Analyze sales reports showing sales volume, profit loss (EVA), and margins utilizing the 'on-demand' reporting process.
  • Ensure prudent credit transactions and manage account collections.
  • Participate in the planning process by providing accurate, achievable sales forecasts.
  • Align achievements with corporate goals, standards, and objectives.
  • Communicate safety program goals and expectations and ensure associates are trained in the Safety program.
  • Train leads and develop associates in customer service, order management, purchasing, warehouse duties, office administration, truck management, and system processes.
  • Cross-train on all areas of Stone Center operations; customer service, warehouse, and office administration duties.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage Stone Center staff associates, providing daily support and ongoing performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with Human Resource policies including hiring, firing, performance management, and DOT compliance.
  • Provide training on safely loading delivery trucks and operating lift trucks with booms and/or overhead cranes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 5+ years relevant stone sales experience required OR Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 3+ years relevant sales/management experience in the stone business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical aptitude; time management and organizational skills.
  • Proven training, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
