About the position

The Sales Compensation Analyst at Medtronic plays a crucial role in the Sales Compensation Administration team, focusing on auditing and commission-related processes. This hybrid position requires the analyst to work onsite three days a week in Mounds View, Minnesota, while also allowing for independent work. The role involves calculating incentive compensation, managing sales contests, and ensuring accurate commission processing, all while supporting the broader Total Rewards team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead various processes and calculations related to auditing, repayments, and distribution of documents to the sales force
  • Lead all audits related to commission processing
  • Lead business requirements gathering for new enhancements for the commission system
  • Define process improvement and best practice opportunities
  • Document and maintain procedures and business process workflows
  • Assist with commission/incentive processing in Callidus (EMIC) system
  • Assist with the administration of sales employee promotions and sales contests
  • Assist in testing commission calculations, system enhancements, and reports
  • Partner with IT to accurately maintain the sales commission system
  • Provide analytical data support for colleagues, partners, and clients
  • Partner with the broader Total Rewards team on other projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of compensation, payroll, or finance experience OR Advanced Degree

  • Proficiency with Callidus and/or Workday
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship building, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, work on several projects simultaneously, and work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and recognize when escalation is necessary
  • Ability to work with highly confidential data and always maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques and tools
  • Advanced level skills in Workday, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Medtronic work experience - Knowledge of company products, company functions, and sales policies and procedures
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Previous experience in a customer service or high customer interaction
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
