About the position

The Sales Compensation Analyst will serve as the main point of contact for all sales commission activities, supporting the SportsEngine Go-to-Market teams. This role is crucial in collaborating with key leaders to develop, modify, and implement sales compensation structures and incentive programs that align with the company's goals. The analyst will utilize advanced techniques to analyze sales performance data and compensation metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to enhance sales strategies and performance. In addition to overseeing sales compensation management systems, the analyst will ensure accurate calculations, reporting clarity, and timely distribution of commissions, bonuses, SPIFs, and sales contest payouts. Collaboration with HR and Legal teams is essential to ensure that compensation plans comply with legal requirements, and to maintain comprehensive policies and procedures documentation. The analyst will issue and track all commission-related documents to commissionable employees and managers, while also maintaining all relevant commission plan templates and executed agreements. This role may also involve supporting non-compensation-related analysis projects as needed. A successful Sales Compensation Analyst will quickly build a deep understanding of the business and effectively communicate results and present recommendations to leadership team members, ensuring that the sales teams are motivated and compensated fairly for their contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all sales commission activities.
  • Collaborate with key leaders to develop, modify, and implement sales compensation structures and incentive programs.
  • Analyze sales performance data and compensation metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee sales compensation management systems and related reporting.
  • Ensure accurate calculations, reporting clarity, and timely distribution of commissions, bonuses, SPIFs, and sales contest payouts.
  • Collaborate with HR and Legal teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements for compensation plans.
  • Issue and track all commission-related documents to commissionable employees and managers.
  • Maintain all relevant commission plan templates and executed agreements.
  • Support non-compensation-related analysis projects as needed.
  • Effectively communicate results and present recommendations to leadership team members.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in data analytics, data visualization, or data aggregation experience with sales compensation/commission models, preferably in the SAAS industry.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions, with the ability to optimize existing SQL queries for performance and scalability.
  • Proficiency in Excel including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and advanced analytical functionality.
  • Experience supporting Sales functions, either directly or indirectly, is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a concentration in Business Admin, Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Finance, or other related fields.
