About the position

The Sales Compensation Analyst at QTS is a pivotal role within the People Services Operations team, focusing on the administration of compensation and sales commissions. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely commission payments, managing the Xactly Incent commission system, and addressing inquiries from the Sales team regarding commission calculations. The analyst will collaborate closely with various departments, including Accounting, Payroll, and Sales Operations, to facilitate the smooth processing of commission payments and to maintain the integrity of compensation data. In addition to commission administration, the Sales Compensation Analyst will maintain an Excel model that tracks the Sales organization structure, quotas, commission rates, and the overall cost of the commission plan. This role also involves participating in salary surveys, analyzing data to assess competitiveness, and preparing comprehensive reporting packages summarizing sales commission data for Executive leadership. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining the sales organizational hierarchy and making necessary updates related to hires, terminations, or changes in compensation plans within the commissions system. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines. They will thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and will be expected to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision. This role is crucial for supporting the overall compensation strategy and ensuring that QTS remains competitive in attracting and retaining top sales talent.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as system administrator of the Xactly Incent commission system including: monthly recurring file creation, order processing, and payroll file preparation.
  • Address inquiries from the Sales team regarding commission calculations.
  • Work with Accounting and Payroll teams to communicate and process monthly commission payments accurately and on time.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations, Sales Leaders, and Business Partners to understand Sales new hire offers including: assigned commission plans, recoverable draws, quotas, and commission rates.
  • Maintain Excel model used to track Sales org structure, quotas, commission rates, and the cost of the commission plan.
  • Track, research and resolve compensation related queries.
  • Support VP, People Services operations in administration of existing compensation plans.
  • Participate in salary surveys, and analyze data from survey sources to determine competitiveness.
  • Evaluate, analyze, summarize, and prepare reporting packages summarizing sales commission data to be presented to Executive leadership.
  • Maintain the sales organizational hierarchy, and make any changes to hires, terminations, or compensation plan changes in the commissions system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel including: pivot tables, complex formulas, lookup functions, etc.
  • Three or more years of experience with compensation and/or sales commissions.
  • Proficiency in organizing, summarizing, and analyzing large data sets.
  • Ability to create elegant, efficient, and effective compensation and financial models, budgets, reports, and presentations.
  • Experience administering sales commission plans
  • Experience with Xactly Incent commission software
  • Experience with Workday
