About the position

As a Sales Consultant for CBRE's EV Solutions O&M, you will play a pivotal role in the electrification consultancy sector, focusing on site selection, grants and incentives management, and site acquisition. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from design and engineering to construction and utility engagement, ensuring that our EV charging infrastructure is not only built but also maintained effectively. This role is crucial as CBRE has successfully launched its EV Charging solution, and we are looking for individuals with deep domain expertise to support our growing client base in this area. In this position, you will develop technical solutions specifically for the "Operate & Maintain" segment of our EV Solutions offering. You will act as a subject matter expert, collaborating closely with Business Development, Sales, Solutions, and Account teams to create clear and effective client solutions. This may include producing design deliverables, pricing models, and staffing plans. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, driven by customer feedback and the evolving dynamics of the market. You will coordinate the bid management process, which involves developing Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and client presentations. Building and maintaining strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients will be essential, as will creating a culture of cross-selling and new business cultivation within the team. You will ensure the accuracy of the sales pipeline and tracker, applying your in-depth knowledge of industry standards and procedures to deliver innovative solutions. Your role will also involve coaching others, sharing your expertise, and leading by example to model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values. You will impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities, working within broad guidelines and policies. Effective communication will be vital, as you will need to explain complex or sensitive information clearly and engage consistently with stakeholders to understand their needs and showcase CBRE's technical products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions for the "Operate & Maintain" portion of our EV Solutions offer.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in support of the Business Development, Sales, Solutions, and Account teams.
  • Create clear client solutions, including design deliverables, pricing, and staffing models.
  • Continuously improve based on customer feedback and evolving market dynamics.
  • Coordinate the bid management process through the development of RFIs, RFPs, and client presentations.
  • Work with key stakeholders to refresh the go-to-market approach in key markets.
  • Maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients to establish strong personal credibility.
  • Create awareness and culture of cross-selling and improved focus on new business cultivation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the pipeline and tracker.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job subject area and broad knowledge of several job subject areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Stay attuned to customer needs through consistent engagement and communication with stakeholders.
  • Participate in client discovery and solution meetings to showcase CBRE's technical products and commitment to delivering value.
  • Be well-versed in the competitive landscape of similar product offerings and ensure that CBRE's product differentiation is well defined and understood.
  • Develop commercial terms, including pricing and standard contract documents for negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience; a combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive approach.
  • Strongly prefer experience in EV charging, particularly in infrastructure design, engineering, and/or deployment.
  • Proven track record in technical sales.
  • Preference for an electrical engineering background.
  • Experience with distributed renewable energy (solar) and battery storage is a plus.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a key member of a commercial/deal team.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead customer discussions towards problem resolution and transform business and technical requirements into clear, high-quality technical solutions.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Financial fluency and acumen.
  • Highly proficient in technology.
  • International experience is a plus.
