About the position

As a Sales Consultant for EV Solutions at CBRE, you will play a pivotal role in the electrification consultancy sector, focusing on site selection, grants and incentives management, and site acquisition. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from planning and design to operation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure. This includes engaging with utilities, overseeing construction, and ensuring optimized operations through preventative and corrective maintenance. You will be part of a team that has successfully launched CBRE's EV Charging solution, and your expertise will be crucial in supporting our growing client base in this area. In this role, you will develop technical solutions specifically for the "Design, Build & Electrify" segment of our EV Solutions offering. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate closely with Business Development, Sales, Solutions, and Account teams to create clear and effective client solutions. This may involve producing design deliverables, construction pricing, staffing models, utility engagement plans, and permitting plans. Continuous improvement based on customer feedback and market dynamics will be essential to your success. You will also coordinate the bid management process, which includes developing Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and client presentations. Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients will be key, as will creating a culture of cross-selling and focusing on new business cultivation. You will ensure the accuracy of the sales pipeline and tracker, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to provide innovative solutions. Your role will require you to coach others, share your extensive knowledge, and lead by example, embodying CBRE's RISE values. You will impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams, working within broad guidelines and policies. Your ability to explain complex or sensitive information clearly will be vital, as will your engagement with stakeholders to understand customer needs and showcase CBRE's technical products. Additionally, you will develop commercial terms, including pricing and standard contract documents, to facilitate successful negotiations that align with CBRE's pricing criteria and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions for the "Design, Build & Electrify" portion of our EV Solutions offer.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in support of the Business Development, Sales, Solutions, and Account teams.
  • Create clear client solutions, including design deliverables, construction pricing, staffing models, utility engagement plans, and permitting plans.
  • Continuously improve based on customer feedback and evolving market dynamics.
  • Coordinate the bid management process through the development of RFIs, RFPs, and client presentations.
  • Work with key stakeholders to refresh the go-to-market approach in key markets.
  • Maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients to establish strong personal credibility.
  • Create awareness and culture of cross-selling and improved focus on new business cultivation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the pipeline and tracker.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job subject area and broad knowledge of several job subject areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders.
  • Stay attuned to customer needs through consistent engagement and communication with stakeholders.

  • Be well-versed in the competitive landscape of similar product offerings and ensure that CBRE's product differentiation is well defined and understood.
  • Develop commercial terms, including pricing and standard contract documents for negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience; a combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive approach.
  • Strongly prefer experience in EV charging, particularly in infrastructure design, engineering, and/or deployment.
  • Proven track record in technical sales.
  • Preference for an electrical engineering background.
  • Experience with distributed renewable energy (solar) and battery storage is a plus.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities in English with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a key member of a commercial/deal team.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead customer discussions towards problem resolution and transform business and technical requirements into clear, high-quality technical solutions for clients.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Financial fluency and acumen.
  • Highly proficient in technology.
  • International experience is a plus.
